What was the highlight of JAZ Lamaya Resort

Exceptional

An excellent location, a resort with all you need. Starting with welcome to hotel, very fast check in (Mr. Faati at reception), then the room: big, clean (every day they change towels, beach towels too). Food is delicious and diversified, anybody can find something to eat ( salads, hummus, labneh, vegetables, grill, meat, seafood, fruits, soups, etc, etc). Entertainment is nice, people are doing all the best to make clients feel good. At pool bar and hotel bar, they prepare any kind of cocktails and coffes. At the beach, also, they take care of everybody. Reef is amazing. All you need is a snorkeling mask. Water in pool is clean and warm. All my stay was an unforgettable experience from all points of view. At leaving, a manager ask us about our stay, in order to improve whatever is necessary. Very good choice of a vacation.

What was the highlight of JAZ Lamaya Resort

Great resort with average food and a bit annoying staff

The resort is huge, modern, kept in good condition and very clean. Room are specious, clean and with all all facilities. Water in swimming pool is very clean. I don't know how they do it, but they don't use chlorine, what's great. Beach is very nice with access to snorkeling spot on site. Sunbeds, but in general all furniture, are almost like new.

Even though the resort is great there are things I don't like and should be changed/improved. First, check-in was nicely done, but I missed a short tour or explanation what the resort offers. Second, mostly staff is ok, some were great but there are also such who just try to do nothing or focus on those from which they think they will get a tip. For example I came to the sunbed at the same time as an elderly couple from Germany. Someone immediately brought mattresses for them and didn't even ask me if I wanted them. The same during serving meals - there are waiters who even they carry plates to some guests and won't even ask others what to drink. Third, the choice of food is very large, but unfortunately some of the dishes are not tasty at all - the meat was usually dry, the mousse had a pudding-like consistency, etc. Also, I've noticed that whenever a bigger group of Germans arrived served food was much better. Fourth, animators seems to be not prepared. They weren't able to convince people to join and also I think people weren't up to them because they saw how they look like. However, evening's live concerts were really nice. Fifth, it was hard to fall asleep on a sunbed or even relax because someone was constantly coming to offer something - massage, trip, snorkeling or diving, etc. It would be enough to tell during introduction what's available and then allow guests to come for more information of they are interested. People come to relax, not to be hassled all day. The thing I don't like the most is to be treated like a second-class guest. Normally question "where are you come from?" is a start of a small talk, but at the resort I sometimes had an impression it's to check if you're worth the attention or not. For sure if the resort wants to get better reviews should improve the situation with the staff, especially those at restaurant.

Great cocktails and aqua park

The cocktails were fantastic as was the service at the pool and at the beach where waiters brought you drinks. The pontoon enters a bay so when it is windy, the sea is calmer. There is also access to a sandy beach which is open when it is very windy which you can swim at. The hotel provides wind breakers. The aqua park has many slides and is very fun. Lifeguards at the pool were very attentive.

The food was repetitive. At breakfast bacon was only provided one morning. There is always a long queue for waffles and crepes at the beach bar. Not all cocktails are made at the beach bar and the selection is limited. The hotel conditioner doesn't work. When we stayed it was very windy and there was a strong current by the pontoon so you couldn't swim. On non windy days the lifeguard was not watching the water, he watched the beach so if anything were to happen I'm not certain he would actually step in. Lots of jelly fish in the sea. Coral is about 20% dead. Overall I recommend staying at the jaz lamaya

It was a very comfortable stay, the rooms are very spacious, the food options are great, and the staff are kind and frie

The restaurant was great. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were super friendly and helpful. A huge shoutout to Hamdy in the restaurant who went out of his way to learn what we liked to drink at different mealtimes and always gave us great service. another shoutout to Kirolos (sorry, not sure how to spell his name) at reception who spent significant time helping us reserve a table at the a-la-carte restaurant. He was super friendly and kind and didn’t make us feel like we were bothersome.

Our housekeeping guy was absolutely amazing - taking time to prepare our room well and give us a surprise each day. It’s not his fault at all - it’s just what he is trained to do…but the bathroom was not cleaned well (mopping the floor is not enough…. it needs to be sprayed down to catch all the dirt and hair). Also, our toilet sprayer (shattaf) was not working. A plumber came twice, but it just broke again immediately after. This was rather inconvenient :)

Breakfast ok Didn't try buffet lunch but really liked restaurant near beach for lunch Dinner was the main problem, lack of variety and was impossible to book one of the a'la carte restaurants . Reception did find me one on last night . Didn't really enjoy the wine or alcoholic cocktails either.

Jaz Lamaya .... Thank you for the happiness we had there.

I was amazed by the quality of the Staff you have there, they were so friendly, helpful and smiling all the time. The food quality was amazing, I enjoyed all the meals.

That I Had to leave the resort, I wish I could stay more, I planned with my wife that we will go back to the resort during spring time and before it gets too hot there.

A place you want to come again to

Several hotels are planned as one space, you can enjoy beautiful territory and facilities of all of them. Nice reef and sea. Almost total absence of annoying ones living at the Southern shore of Arctic Ocean.

Our building was not the newest in the hotel complex, so was the room. But the great sea-view made us forget about those little things which need to be refurbished

The food is varied and has something for everyone. The service is attentive and quick. The hotel offers a great restaurant with three meals a day. In the evening there is a good selection of drinks in various places. The perfect location in the bay with direct access to the reef is unbeatable.

Wonderful

The big territory - shared space of 6 hotels, where you can walk or run along the sea, a lot of swimming pools. Location in the bay. Polite and attentive personnel. Cleanliness. High quality and variability of food. Live music in the evening, professional shows - dancing performances. Good for divers. The majority of guests were from Poland and Germany, which is comfortable personally for me.

I like the friendly staff at all positions - from gardener, house keeping to chefs in the kitchen, restaurants and bars waitresses and shouldn’t forget the front desk. Location is great - only 10 minutes from Marsa Alam International Airport.

A la carte restaurants are really quickly fully booked and Wi-Fi is disconnected devices after 2 days.
